How to Join the Pangea Community

A New Kind of Living

Pangea Community in Taos County, New Mexico is more than a neighborhood, it is a living system.

Here, homes, land, water, food, and people function together as one regenerative ecosystem.

The community generates its own power, harvests its own rainwater, grows food year-round, and operates through shared stewardship and cultural respect.

Joining Pangea means becoming part of a long-term commitment and participating in a regenerative way of life.

Step 1 – Explore & Connect

Begin by learning about what Pangea stands for:

  • Off-grid renewable living
  • Regenerative architecture and land stewardship
  • Cultural respect and regional awareness
  • Cooperative governance through the LPA

When you are ready, complete the Online Interest Form.

You may receive a Community Information Packet introducing our values, governance structure, lot options, and what daily life here truly looks like.

Step 2 – Schedule a Conversation

After submitting your interest form, we will schedule a one-on-one conversation.

This is an open and thoughtful dialogue where we discuss:

  • How regenerative living works at Pangea (solar, water, food, biotecture systems)
  • The community structure and LPA governance
  • Shared amenities and participation expectations
  • Your goals, vision, and readiness

This conversation helps determine whether Pangea is the right fit, for you and for the community.

Alignment matters.

Step 3 — Submit Your Membership Application

If you feel aligned, you will complete the Residential Membership Application.

This includes:

  • Basic household information
  • Statement of intent
  • Financial readiness documentation (ownership or rental)
  • Background and reference checks

All materials are handled confidentially.

Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee to ensure preparedness for regenerative living and shared responsibility.

Step 4 – Interview & Provisional Membership

Selected applicants are invited to a deeper conversation, either in person or virtually.

If approved, you will receive a Provisional Membership Letter confirming your place in the process.

Provisional Members may:

  • Participate in community gatherings
  • Attend meetings
  • Begin lot selection and planning discussions

At this stage, you are entering the formal pathway toward membership.

Step 5 – Lot Selection & Agreement

Once provisional membership is confirmed, you may:

  • Select an available lot
  • Review architectural guidelines
  • Execute a Purchase Agreement
  • Open escrow

This phase formalizes your commitment and begins the legal acquisition process.

Construction planning may begin only after Design Review approval.

Step 6 – Resident Systems & Governance Orientation

Before design construction approval and full membership activation, every new member completes a structured orientation program.

This ensures readiness for:

  • Off-grid solar and battery systems
  • Rainwater and greywater management
  • Botanical wastewater systems
  • Fire safety standards
  • LPA governance and responsibilities
  • Cultural stewardship and regional respect

Orientation is educational, practical, and community-centered.

It ensures that every homeowner understands how their systems work – and how the neighborhood functions as a whole.

Step 7 – Welcome Home

After completing orientation and finalizing legal or financial steps, you become a Full Member of the Pangea Community.

You will receive:

  • A Certificate of Membership
  • Access to the community portal
  • A Welcome Packet with contacts and resources
  • Invitation to participate in committees and volunteer programs

From here, you step fully into community life – contributing to shared spaces, food systems, and collective governance.

A Living Commitment

Becoming part of Pangea is both an opportunity and a responsibility.

Every resident commits to:

  • Regenerating land and water
  • Living within ecological limits
  • Honoring regional culture
  • Participating in collective stewardship

This is not speculative real estate.

It is a long-term investment in place and purpose.
